Employer Sponsored Regional Visa – Subclass 494
This visa allows you to do the following:
- Work in regional Australia for up to 5 years with an employer/sponsor.
- Travel in and out of Australia during the validity of your visa
- Apply for a Permanent Residence visa (if you meet eligibility criteria)
An employer must become an approved Standard Business Sponsor and lodge a nomination application in support of the visa application.
As part of the Nomination application a regional certifying body must approve that the employer is offering the intending visa applicant the correct annual market salary rate.
An employer must demonstrate that they cannot find a suitably qualified Australian employee to fill the position.
Visa Applicants must:
- be nominated by an approved Business Sponsor operating in a regional area
- have the necessary skills, qualifications, and work experience:
- receive a positive skills assessment from a skills assessing authority in your nominated occupation (exemptions apply)
- demonstrate 3 years full-time work experience at the required skill level in your nominated occupation
- be under 45 years of age at the time of application (exemptions apply);
- demonstrate you have the required level of English (Competent).
Certain exemptions may apply to the above.
